In-Home Care (Home Care)
Non-medical help at home, including personal care, homemaker assistance and respite care, designed to help seniors remain safely in their own home.
What is in-home care (home care)?
In-home caregivers (also known as home care in Hawaii) provide non-medical assistance to individuals in their home. This assistance includes personal care, homemaker assistance, and respite care. These services are designed to help seniors remain safely in their home.
- Personal care includes assistance with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, walking, and personal hygiene to facilitate self-care).
- Homemaker assistance includes meal prep, shopping, and housekeeping.
- Respite care is temporary assistance provided due to a lack of support, or when the current support system is unavailable.
Each home care service is different, offering different services and/or specializations. Contact CareSift with questions about home care, and whether it is the right fit for your situation.
Home care vs. home health
Home care is not to be confused with home health services. Home health services need to be ordered by your physician for a specific condition. Home health services include skilled therapy (e.g., nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy).
